Candace Fertile was appointed to the board September 1, 2025 by the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of BC and the British Columbia General Employees’ Union.

She brings a significant background to this role, including over thirty years of experience as an instructor, most recently at Camosun College, before her retirement in December of 2024. Candace also holds a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, and a PhD in English from the University of Alberta and has completed the Shareholder Association for Research and Education Pension Boot Camp and master classes, the Foundations of Trust Management Standards, the Advanced Trust Management Standards, and the Master of Trust Management programs.

Candace previously served on the College Board of Trustees from September 2014 to August 2023. Prior to serving on the board, she served as chair of the FPSE Status of Women Committee and on the FPSE Pension Advisory Committee.
